If your PC won't turn on, here are a few
helpful tips you can follow before calling Datacon.
-
Are the cables connected properly? Check to
make sure you don't have a loose cable. Unplug the power
cable from the PC and outlet. Reconnect, making sure both
ends are inserted firmly.
-
Is my computer connected to a power strip or
surge protector? If so, temporarily disconnect the computer
from the power strip or surge protector and connect the it
directly to the wall. If the PC still does not come on,
verify that the outlet works by connecting a known good
electrical component like a light or radio into the wall
outlet. This will help verify that the wall outlet, strip,
and surge protector are working.
-
If you are unable to get anything to work in
the electrical outlet, we recommend calling a qualified
electrician. If the PC works when connected directly to the
wall, try replacing the power strip. Replacing with a good
surge protector is recommended.
-
If you have determined that the wall outlet
is working and the surge protector is working, it is most
likely that the power supply or another component inside the
PC has failed. If this is the case, call us and schedule an
appointment.
