How to Balance your practice |
 |
|
|
|
How are you
balancing your practice at the end of the day? At
Datacon we recommend the following quick list of
tasks to help you reconcile your practice and back
up your data.
-
Balance all posting:
From Daily Statistics, select the
date, Completed Work Transactions, and
press print. Compare this report to your
route slips or daily schedule.
-
Review/correct the deposit:
From the Deposit Slip menu select
Review deposit slip. If
you find an error, select the incorrect entry,
select Responsible Party
from the transaction detail and go to the
account ledger. Delete the incorrect
transaction and add the correct one. As you
exit you will go back to the Deposit Slip
menu.
-
Print the deposit slip:
Prior to printing the deposit slip, toggle the
selection second from the bottom to read
"Include deposit detail" to receive a printed
report of each payment entry, including
itemization of group checks. Print and accept
the deposit once you have reviewed it.
-
Print the control sheets:
From the main menu, select Print control
sheet. This is the most important document produced by
the Datacon system, providing your practice with a precise
record of all transactions entered into the computer from
the last time the control sheet was run to this time. The
control sheets are a 3-part report tracked by serial numbers
and cannot be reprinted after they have been accepted.

| "The simplicity of this program offers such a wide range of reports... all of which can be tailored to meet the needs of our office. Add to this a competent, caring support team... what a wonderful combination," Ms. Nancy Korytoski, Dr. Kittleson - Sonoma. |

- Backup and Verify:
From the main menu, select Backup. Run this
routine each working day to ensure a reliable copy of your
practice data in case your data were to become lost, stolen
or corrupted. You have the option to set a specific hour of
the day for the backup. Review the Backup screen at
the completion of the backup. The "last backup", "last
verify", and "created on" dates should all be the same and
there should be "no hard errors", or any errors indicating
you should notify Datacon.. If you have any questions,
please give us a call.
