Download and Install pcLink Software
Version 1.8 (7/12/2004)
Note: You must install pcLink
on each PC that is running it. These
instructions take you through updating a current installation of pcLink.
A new installation of pcLink requires some additional configuration, so
please contact Customer Support for assistance.
To download the latest version of pcLink, 1.8
(7/12/2004),
Click here,
then click Save,
to save the file to your PC. You will get a "Save As..."
window. You need to "Save in:
Desktop", as shown here (or save to the location of your choice,
noting where that is):

Click Save.
Once you have downloaded the file (this takes around 15 minutes
if you are using a dial-up Internet connection, or
under 1 minute if using DSL), you need to install it on your PC.

Close ALL open Windows applications.
This includes your internet connection and
pcLink.

Go to your Windows
desktop (or other location that you noted) and Double-click on the file
that you just downloaded.
You will get the following window:

Click OK

You will see the
following window:

Click Setup. The pcLink
install will begin.

Click Next
when prompted. After a few moments you will see the following
screen:

- Click Finish. Do not click the "Yes, launch the program file"
box. (if you do, close the resulting window
without making or saving any changes.)
- If you are prompted to
reboot your PC, do so now
- Using your existing Datacon icon on
your Windows desktop, launch pcLink and verify it is working
- Verify the new pcLink version
- Launch pcLink
- Click Help then About
- Your version and date
should be updated
- Delete the file you downloaded on your desktop
- Right click on the file on your desktop that
you downloaded
- Click delete
